Should you do an MBA?

Came across cool post on Fractals of Change ‘Should you go to Business School’ a nice honest outlook at doing a MBA. Do comment here – on your thoughts  … Points to highlight would be this quote:

If
you want a two year break from life, go to business school.  If you
want to meet a bunch of new, generally smart, and always interesting
people, go to business school.  If you are a techie but like the
business side of things, want to get an intellectual (and functional
grounding) in business stuff, want a two year break from life, and want
to meet interesting people, go to business school. …

Recognize this will cost you $100k plus two years of opportunity cost, so make sure it’s worth it to you.

He also points to another post by Fred Wilson, where he mentions the five things he learnt from his MBA from Wharton.

Reasons I will go to MBA school (if I ever go):
– Take a break in life
– meet more cool and enthusiastic people
– Networking
– learn to value money (cash flows)

I will not go:
– to change my career!
– to just get a degree
