ring ring … the phone rang, it was 4:26 am on Sunday 6th May well before my 5am alarm! I picked up the phone and heard Lighttripper‘s (a.k.a Vinayak) voice and I said yup will be there at MG Road in 20 mins! Pushed myself there and there I met Sreelesh and we were zoomed in Vinayak’s Honda city. Leaving Bangalore at 5:45 am our next target was the Shell Petrol bunk where we were supposed to meet 4 more BWS Flickrites.
After filling the tank buying some water, soda and biscuits and listening to FEVER 104 we all set forth to Hassan, Halebidu and Belur. Madhavan a.k.a. Rain-In-The-Face, Sundara, Heaven or Earth (aka Lijo) and Surendar join us in the Indica. Touching speeds of 160 Kmph we reached Halebidu just around 9am and started clicking. Clicked to our heartful untill hunger struck and we grabbed our lunch.
Then we moved on to Belur around 1pm and we decided to push out before 3pm as the Chief Minister was supposed to grace the place then. Just when we were leaving back to Halebidu to catch the temple ruins at sunset, the rain gods graced the occasion and showered an intense 20 minute spell bringing the temperature down by almost 8 to 10 deg! We stopped on route to Halebidu to take snaps of the lightings – unfortunately no one got lucky.
Rested at Halebidu and caught up with pakoras in the lovely weather. The Indica folks left. Vinayak, Sreelesh and I waited and took more shots in teh evening and then headed back into the city to be lost once again in the daily rigmarole.
Came back to MG Road around 10:30pm, I then picked up another friend caught up with him at Pizza Corner + Brew Ha Ha and then went home with him and crashed.
I leaving rest of the stuff to the pictures. I guess I could have done better with the writing but just need to be in a better mood 😀
Completely felt at home with flickr folks at Bangalore
